Vietnam visa questions

Change about Vietnam visa following September 1, 2016

Hi, I’m Hong Kong passport holder. I have heard something about new visa requirements for Vietnam that started on September 1, 2016. Can I still get visa on arrival for my 20 days in Vietnam and how much is it?

Thank you,

Dear Kenny,

First of all, thank  you for leaving us your message.

Please be kindly informed that there is one change regarding Vietnam visa for US passport holders since September 1, 2016. This change has nothing relating to Vietnam visa for Hong Kong, so you still can absolutely apply for Vietnam visa on arrival for your 20 days in Vietnam in the same procedure as before.

To obtain a visa on arrival, you need to complete the online form for visa approval letter, then pay for service fee (around US$21), and then get visa approval letter via your email within 2 working days together with entry and exit form.

You then print the letter and the form out, prepare 2 passport-sized photos (one to be glued on the entry and exit form, and one to present at the airport if required), stamping fee (US$25) to get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport.

So, total cost of a 1-month single entry visa on arrival for Hong Kong passport holders is US$46. It is the cost for solo traveler. In case you apply in group, the service fee may be much lower. See here for details: https://vietnamvisa.hk/vietnam-visa-fee-instruction/.

Should you need any further information, please feel free to let us know.
