Vietnam Visa for Hong Kong Citizens for Border Crossing

Dear Sir/Madam

Next September my wife and I hope to enter Vietnam by crossing the land boarder from China at Hekou. Could you please tell me the best way to get a visa for entering Vietnam? We are Hong Kong and will be staying Vietnam for less than 10 days. The information that I have found so far is for Airport entry only.

Please be informed that in case you travel to Vietnam by border crossing, you need to apply for Vietnam visa in advance via a local Vietnam embassy. It can be Vietnam Embassy in Hong Kong (if you are there) or in any country which is the most convenient for you (eg. in China).

As you found, Vietnam visa on arrival which can be applied online is for those traveling to Vietnam by air only. So it is not available for your travel to Vietnam via land border. But in case you change your mind and travel to Vietnam by air, visa on arrival completely work.
